A Bit About Yagya

Turning Interest Into Action

Yagyopathy is the process of healing of the entire ecosystem by the fire ritual form of Vedic Yagya. It establishes a fine balance amongst all the component of the ecosystem by purifying the air and water, improving the soil quality, enhancing the crop yield and their nutritive value and most importantly healing of all the inhabitants- human, animals and plants.

Through Yagyopathy healing is done by healing the atmosphere first and then the healed atmosphere heals the humans, the animals and the plants inhabiting in it. It sets all the elements of the ecosystem in perfect synchronization.

For this Yagya is performed  in the morning and evenings around sunrise and sunset daily using special havan samagri or  herbal preparations along with cows ghee.

 How to Perform Yagya

PROCEDURE

Yagya should ideally be performed daily at the sunrise/ sunset hours but if this schedule looks difficult to follow, one may also conduct yagya 2 hours after the sunrise/sunset too.

  • Sit down and keep the kund on a piece of stone or tile.

  • Put the ghee soaked cotton round wick inside the kund and arrange the samidha around it.

  • If no samidha is available, use Gas/ Electric stove. Put the Kund on the stove and switch on the stove.

  • Take Havishya in a plate and light the fir.

  • When the fire is lit, offer 5 Oblations of Havishya chanting the Gayatri mantra and 3 Oblations of Havishya chanting Mahamritunjay Mantra.

  • Then finish off with: Om Shantih Shantih Shantih (ऊँ शांति: शांति: शांति:) and feel  that peace is pouring down from top to bottom inside you

  • Most commonly Mango wood is used as Samidhas. Completely dried & clean mango wood without bark should be used; these should be cut into small sticks of varying lengths according to the size of the Agnikunda.

It is said that the earth-atmospheric space should be kept free from pollution. It has been ordained that one should not carry out such activity which harms them.  It has been cautioned that the earth and the space around it are animate objects and are our saviours.
